During the last week of April 2023, the 2nd transnational project meeting of VRinHE project partners took place in Rhodes, as well as the Learning Teaching Training Activity.
More specifically, on Monday, April 24, the 2nd 2nd transnational project meeting took place in our team’s laboratory. The meeting was attended by partners from Ruse University (Bulgaria), University of Latvia (Latvia), Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCCI), CARDET (Cyprus), while partners from E.N.T.E.R. (Austria) and University of Nicosia (Cyprus) participated online. Our team was represented by Dr. Alivizos Sofos and Mr. Filippos Tzortzoglou. The meeting was highly productive and partners discussed organizational issues of the project’s upcoming deliverables, such as the MOOC and the reporting of policy guidelines.
At the same time, between Monday 24 and Wednesday 26 April, the teaching and training activity (Learning Teaching Training Activity) of the project took place. Twenty-one participants from Bulgaria, Austria, Cyprus, Greece, Austria and Latvia were trained in the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies in teaching in Higher Education. The participants from the University of the Aegean were Dr. Apostolos Kostas (coordinator of the activity) and Dr.Dimitrios Spanos as well as the PhD candidate Mr. Panagiotis Kanychis, while one of the guest speakers was Dr. Vlasis Kasapakis, Assistant Professor of the Department of Cultural Technology of the University of the Aegean. The program of the 3-day activity included theory, practice with VR equipment and scenario building. The trainees are expected to return to their countries and act as multipliers, training 20 colleagues from Universities in their country.
