Members of the Media Pedagogy Research Group of the University of the Aegean, Vasileios Paraschou, Apostolos Kostas and Filippos Tzortzoglou, presented the research paper “Development and Validation of the Data Literacy Competence Framework for Compulsory Education” at the 4th International Scientific Conference INOEK 2026, held on 25–26 September 2026 at the Athens University of Economics and Business in Athens, Greece.
The paper presents research carried out within the framework of the Erasmus+ DATA-READY project, focusing on the development and validation of a Data Literacy Competence Framework for compulsory education.
The framework aims to provide a structured reference for defining and organising the competences required for meaningful engagement with data in educational contexts. Its development represents an important step in the work of DATA-READY towards supporting the systematic integration of Data Literacy into school education and informing the development of educational and professional development resources.
The presentation at INOEK 2026 provided an opportunity to share the framework and its validation process with the wider scientific community and to contribute to the ongoing discussion on the role of Data Literacy in contemporary education.
The participation also continues the Media Pedagogy Research Group’s dissemination of DATA-READY research, following the presentation of findings from the Greek national study at TECH-EDU 2026 earlier this year.
