GREENDALE: In-house training workshop by University of the Aegean

Yesterday, 5th June 2026,on World Environment Day, the University of the Aegean team organised an online in-house training workshop in the framework of the Erasmus+ GREENDALE – GREEN Dimension: Adapting Learning in Higher Education.

The event brought together 21 participants from various higher education institutions in Greece and focused on how sustainability competences can be meaningfully integrated into Higher Education teaching, learning outcomes, curricula, and assessment practices, building on the European GreenComp framework. During the workshop, participants were introduced to the aims of the GREENDALE project, the structure and practical use of the GREENDALE Handbook: “Teaching for a Sustainable Future – Integrating Sustainability Competences in Higher Education”, as well as examples of pilot applications in undergraduate courses.

The discussion highlighted the role of Higher Education teachers in preparing students not only for professional success, but also for responsible, values-driven and sustainability-oriented citizenship. The workshop was also an important step toward the pilot revision of undergraduate courses at the University of the Aegean, including applications linked to competences such as Promoting Nature, Systems Thinking, and Problem Framing.
