GREENDALE: Successful Implementation of the Info Day in Rhodes

On March 31, 2026, the University of the Aegean successfully organized an Info Day in Rhodes within the framework of the European project GREENDALE (GREEN Dimension: Adapting Learning in Higher Education), strengthening the dissemination of project results and fostering collaboration between higher education and the labor market.

The event brought together students, academic staff, educators, as well as representatives from businesses and organizations, who had the opportunity to learn more about the project’s objectives and outcomes, and to exchange views on the integration of sustainability skills (green skills) into education and professional practice.

During the event, the main pillars of the project were presented, with particular emphasis on:

  • the development and implementation of innovative teaching methodologies that incorporate sustainability into higher education curricula,
  • the creation of educational materials and handbooks for higher education teachers and company mentors,
  • as well as the implementation of internships focused on the development of sustainability skills.

Special attention was given to the importance of collaboration between universities and industry, highlighting the opportunities created by the project for building meaningful connections between students and the professional environment. Participants engaged in discussions on practical ways to apply sustainability principles in real working conditions and explored opportunities for participation in sustainability-oriented internships.

The event concluded with an open discussion and exchange of good practices, confirming the strong interest of both the academic and business communities in promoting sustainable development through education.

As a project partner, the University of the Aegean continues to actively contribute to the development of innovative educational approaches that enhance sustainability skills and prepare students to meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
