We are pleased to announce the official launch of the European research project GREENDALE – GREEN Dimension: Adapting Learning in Higher Education, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (KA220-HED). The project will begin in September 2024 and run for a duration of 36 months.
Project Objective
GREENDALE aims to enhance the sustainability competences (green skills) of higher education students, based on the European GreenComp framework, through their integration:
- into higher education curricula,
- and into internships via redesigned mentoring approaches in the workplace.
Project Activities
The project foresees a series of targeted actions, including:
- Development of a Handbook for university educators on how to revise and adapt courses to include sustainability competences.
- Pilot implementation of revised courses with higher education students.
- Development of a Handbook for company mentors, providing guidance on how to supervise sustainability-oriented internships.
- Implementation of enhanced internships focused on green skills, in collaboration with participating companies.
Expected Results
- Development of innovative teaching and learning methodologies that support the green transition.
- Increased awareness of sustainability issues among students, teachers, and company mentors.
- Promotion of the applicability of the GreenComp framework within higher education.
- Establishment of a methodology for curriculum redesign and sustainability-based internship models.
Project Consortium
The project is coordinated by the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) in Slovakia and is implemented by a consortium of 6 partners from Slovakia, Greece, and Malta, including:
