XRWomen: Dissemination workshop in Rhodes

On 27 September 2024, the University of the Aegean hosted an important workshop entitled “Dissemination Workshop of the European Project XRWomen”, which is part of a wider European effort to support the empowerment of women through the use of innovative technologies.

The project XRWomen, funded by the European Union (project number: 2022-1-CY01-KA220-ADU-D40A8F95), aims to show how augmented reality (XR) technologies can be used in the education and training of women to acquire skills needed in today’s labour market. This initiative is part of a drive for equality and access for all to the tools of the new digital age.

During the workshop, the main objectives and deliverables of the project were presented, such as the XRWomen Toolkit and the XRWomen eLearning course. In addition, participants were given the opportunity to learn about the challenges and opportunities offered by XR technologies in education. The programme included presentations, open discussions and practical activities. Participants also had the opportunity to interact with the project’s stakeholders, to get to know the applications of virtual reality and to discover ways in which they can use these tools in their own professional or personal journeys.
